Aisa G. Lopez, MD

Dr. Aisa G. Lopez, a beloved physician and longtime member of the Chestnut Hill community, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on August 22, 2026.

For 54 years, Dr. Lopez called Chestnut Hill home, building deep roots in the neighborhood she cherished. She was a devoted member of Our Mother of Consolation Church. Her faith began in childhood as a member of the Legion of Mary and her devotion to Mary continued throughout her faith-filled life. Dr. Lopez dedicated more than four decades to caring for patients served at rehabilitation facilities throughout the Northwest Philadelphia area. She joined the medical staff of Roxborough Memorial Hospital in 1986, where she was a valued and beloved physician and known for her compassionate work within the hospital’s Rehabilitation Unit. Truly dedicated to her profession, she cared for patients until the end. Dr. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rafael H. Lopez, also a physician who maintained a private practice in nearby Wyndmoor until his passing in 2000. Together, they dedicated their lives to caring for the community that surrounded them. Her family was the priority in her life. She is survived by her children: Bernard (Tobiola), Cynthia (James), and Edward; grandchildren: Gregory (Sarah), Timothy (Victoria), David, and Ryan; and her sister, Laura (Romeo). She will be remembered by her family as a woman of unwavering dedication, warmth, and quiet strength. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Mother of Consolation Church on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held at the Church beginning at 9:30AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Our Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E. Chestnut Hill Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118.
