Andrew R. Schmidt, 37, born on April 27, 1988, in Philadelphia PA, passed away on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply, friends who will miss him fiercely, and a world that will now be just a little quieter - and a little less sarcastic.
Andrew was generous to a fault, had a deep bond with all creatures and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, the kind that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing whether you wanted to or not. He had strong opinions, a sharp tongue, and an even sharper loyalty to the people he loved.
He is survived by his mother, Constance (Jarousse) Schmidt; his sister, Maggie Schmidt; his nephew, Mekai Gabriel Massey; and his nieces, Marlo and Mariah Massey - who brought out both his softer side and his legendary uncle-level commentary. Andrew took pride in being an uncle and embraced the role with a perfect balance of affection, humor, and just enough mischief.
Andrew was predeceased by his father, Robert (Bob) C. Schmidt, his grandmother Ruth (RJ) Jarousse. We believe Andrew & Bob are reunited - laughing, planning pranks on us, fishing in their spare time and absolutely refusing to admit who was right.
Services will be held on Friday, February 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Consolation Church in Chestnut Hill. Those attending are encouraged to bring their favorite Andrew story, a smile, and perhaps a tolerance for inappropriate humor - because Andrew would prefer it that way.
A luncheon will follow the service for family and friends who wish to gather, share memories, and continue celebrating Andrew’s life. Kindly RSVP to Maggie Schmidt at mschmidt470@gmail.com so we can plan accordingly.
He will be missed more than words can say, remembered with laughter, and talked about often.
