Ronald C. Metz

Ronald C. Metz age 62, died peacefully at home on December 1^st, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ron graduated from Spring-Ford High School, Royersford, PA in 1979. Ron was employed at Ivy Hill Cemetery and Crematory, Philadelphia, PA for the last 28 years as a landscaper/cemetery caretaker. Ron took great pride in his ability to create beautifully landscaped areas throughout the cemetery. Ron was also a passionate and talented musician. Ron’s most recent band is called; Blonde…James Blonde, which includes his wife Carol and three other band members. Ron was good with his hands and loved to work on his classic BMW car. Ron also loved his South Philly rescue cat, Otis.

Ron was born on March 16, 1961, in Huntingdon PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; James C. Metz and Shirley E. Metz (Henney) both of Alexandria, PA; Brother-in-law Bruce Kugler of Birdsboro, PA; Maternal grandparents, and Paternal grandparents; one Infant nephew, one infant niece, two infant great nephews.

Ron is survived by his daughter Natalie C. Metz of Gilbertsville, PA; Common-law wife Carol A. Lightcap of Spring City, PA; brother J.D. Metz (Fay) of Pottstown, PA; sister Janet Jones Kugler of Birdsboro, PA; sister Stacey Sholly (Jimmers) of Pottstown, PA; and 13 nieces & nephews and 7 great nieces & nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing & memorial service on Friday December 8, 2023, at the chapel at Ivy Hill Cemetery, located at 1201 Easton Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19150.

Viewing, 10am, service 11am. Ron will be cremated after the service. The family will hold a burial of his ashes at Ivy Hill Cemetery in the Spring of 2024, followed by a celebration of life party with his family, friends, and fellow musicians.
