Rujean Inglis Mitinger, 87, of Chestnut Hill died on November 6, 2022; wife of 64 years to Ned Mitinger; mother to Cathy Brzozowski (Ken), Jean Chambers (Bill), Ed Mitinger (Janice); grandmother to Morgan and Luke Brzozowski, and Carolyn (Blake) and Gail Chambers; great-grandmother to Margret Heyn (Carolyn). Born in Greensburg, Pa., graduate of Greensburg Salem High school class of 1953, graduate of University of Pittsburgh class of 1957 where she achieved a master's degree and was a proud member and president of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Rujean is best known as the 26-year director and teacher at Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill Pre-kindergarten School, and as the receptionist at Chestnut Hill Hospital from 2003 to 2020. While raising her children in Philadelphia, Rujean was an active participant in many community organizations including the Chestnut Hill Community Association; PTAs of J.S. Jenks School, Central High School, and Girls High School; was regular in attendance at The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill; supported the Chestnut Hill Water Tower Recreation Center and the Chestnut Hill Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia; and was an AAUW member. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, 11 am at The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118. All are invited.
