Sandra McGinn (née Morrison), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and devoted friend, passed away peacefully.
Born in East Falls, Sandra was the daughter of the late John D. and Mary Arlene Morrison. She spent her early years immersed in the close-knit Falls community and graduated from Roxborough High School. Sandra married Tom the love of her life, and together they built a life rooted in family, service, and enduring love.
Sandra’s life journey took her from Chestnut Hill to Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, and later Linwood, New Jersey, before returning to Chestnut Hill. She joined the staff of Robertsons Florist and spent the next forty years in the neighborhood she loved. Her kindness, quiet strength, and graceful presence were cherished by all who knew her.
She served as a Board Member of Caring, Inc. while in Linwood, contributing her insight and heart to an organization committed to elder care. She spent 25 years with Robertson Flowers where she found fulfillment in the creative spirit that surrounded her daily work and the friends she made.
Sandra enjoyed flower arranging, relaxing on the beach, and attending shows at the Walnut Street Theatre. Her passion for home décor brought warmth and elegance to her family, a reflection of the care and creativity she carried throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her dear brother, Stanley Morrison; and his wife, Lynn Morrison (nee Warner). Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; son, Thomas M. and daughter-in-law Honora “Missy” McGinn of Ewing, New Jersey; and her treasured granddaughters, Margaret Winsor (Logan) of Bordentown, New Jersey and Katherine McGinn of Tampa, Florida.
Sandra’s memory will be a blessing to all who had the honor of knowing her. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, July 30th at 4:00 PM, followed by a brief service at 5:00 PM at Jacob F. Ruth Funeral Home, located at 8413 Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, PA 19118.
