Susan Steen, age 78, of Lewes, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 after a battle with ovarian cancer. She is predeceased by her loving husband Richard Steen and survived by her three children, Jeffrey Steen of Youngsville, North Carolina, James Steen (Kristine) of Erdenheim, Pennsylvania, and Kimberly Lumadue (Mark) of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, her four grandchildren, Myranda Siegert, Bethany Steen, Owen Steen, and Michael Steen. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Wallace, her nephew, Richard Wallace Jr, and niece, Christine Nelson, as well as her sister-in-law Elizabeth Steen.
Susan was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Evelyn Brucker and spent most of her life in Pennsylvania. While raising her children, she accomplished her life-long dream of attending college, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Temple University and becoming a member of the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa. She worked in business administration and later as a bookkeeper up until her cancer diagnosis. Aside from keeping busy with her work Sue enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, playing games with friends, and cuddling up with her pup Razzie. But the thing that brought her the most joy was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren who fondly called her MeMe. She will be remembered for her easy-going nature, sense of humor and her love and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 7 at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, PA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
